Locations of Kanon

Kanon is a Japanese visual novel developed by Key and was released in 1999. The story follows the life of Yuichi Aizawa, a high school student who returns to a city he last visited seven years prior, and he has little recollection of the events from back then. He meets several girls and slowly regains his lost memories. Contrasting some of the other Key works I’ve documented here, the events of Kanon happen at an unspecified location, and hunting around online have been rather fruitless, even in the KyoAni reincarnation of the anime. With that in mind, based on KyoAni’s modus operandi, it’s likely that location was inspired by a locale in the Kyoto region.

Anime Location Real-world equivalent

I myself have yet to see the anime; this post is for the sake of completeness in that it is intended to replace the links on TV Tropes.
